President Ram Nath Kovind will be on a two day visit to Chhattisgarh from today. President will participate in the valedictory function of the 18th statehood day celebrations this evening at Naya Raipur, the new state capital of Chhattisgarh.
On his arrival at Raipur, President will proceed first to Mana Shahid samark premises to pay homage to martyrs. As per information received, during the Rajyotsav valedictory function, President Ramnath Kovind will present the state level awards to 18 personalities and five organizations for their outstanding contribution to their respective fields.
The president will visit the stalls set up by various departments depicting the development initiatives taken up by them. Before the valedictory function, Indian Air Force team comprising four helicopters will perform an impressive and colourful air show at Naya Raipur.
On the second day of the visit, President will pay a visit to Girodhpuri, the birth place of Guru Ghasidas. He will be first President of India to visit Giraudpuri. Besides visiting the temple and Jaithkhambh, the President will lay foundation stone for the new community building to be built at Girodhpuri.
