In connection with CD fiasco which rocked political arena in the mineral-rich state, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupesh Baghel today demanded an independent probe into the cases pertaining to the reported minister’s video clip.

Addressing a press conference in the state capital Raipur today, Baghel said, the probe should be monitored by a sitting judge of Supreme Court or high court.

He alleged that the BJP leaders are dismissing the video clip as tampered, even without conducting an investigation.

Baghel alleged that the BJP government is usurping the freedom of the press by misusing the police machinery.

Chhattisgarh police had arrested senior journalist Vinod Verma from Ghaziabad residence in connection with an extortion case registered in Raipur.

Baghel said, the Congress would organise a protest march in the state capital on Sunday, demanding the dismissal of the minister.
