Police have booked an unidentified person on criminal charges of posting derogatory comments against Chhattisgarh’s Commerce and Industry Minister Amar Agrawal on social platform WhatsApp in the state’s Raigarh district.
In connection with alleged posting of objectionable comments against Minister Amar Agrawal in social platform WhatsApp, Kharsia police have registered a case under sections 292 and 507 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) last evening and started investigation, said a police officer, adding that the comments were posted in a WhatsApp group and investigators are questioning the group administrator.
Soon, the accused will be traced out, claimed police.
As per information received, following the complaint of a municipal officer Praveen Singh Gehlot, police have registered the case. Comments were made on the social platform on October 13 when the minister was in Kharsia to attend a programme.
