Chief Minister launches ‘Bonus Tihar’​, Chhattisgarh is developing rapidly because of farmers: Dr. Raman Singh

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh State Government belongs to the poor and farmers. The State is self-sufficient in foodgrains’ production because of the persistent hard-work of farmers. Chief Minister was addressing a gathering of farmers after inaugurating the State-level ‘Bonus Tihar’ at district headquarter Balodabazar and Bilaspur. Thousands of farmers gave a rousing and enthusiastic welcome to Chief Minister.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that farmers are allotted bonus of Rs 2100 crore in the current fiscal for the paddy purchased by the Primary Agriculture Co-Operative Societies’ procurement centres in 2016 . Dr. Raman Singh by clicking Online button had transferred Rs 281 crore 41 lakh as Bonus to one lakh 83 thousand farmers. The entire amount had been transferred into accounts of farmers. Chief Minister also dedicated, performed ‘bhoomipujan’ of development works worth Rs 442 crore at both the districts.

Dr. Raman Singh addressed huge gatherings at both the venues and said that State Government is fulfilling the promise made to farmers. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for sanctioning bonus amount. Chief Minister addressed a large gathering of farmers at the new stadium at Balodabazar and transferred an amount of Rs 166 crore 68 lakh to nearly one lakh 09 thousand farmers by the click of button. He dedicated, laid foundation stones of development works worth Rs 195 crore. The dedicated works include Balaodabazar Nagar Palika bhawan, State Government District hospital building, District Panchayat Bhawan and integrated Office building.

Chief Minister said that this is the first time after the creation of Chhattisgarh State that a special session of Assembly had been called to pass the bonus for farmers. The State Government is sensitive towards the aspirations of farmers. Balodabazar is the pious land of the State where Amar Shaheed Veernarayan Singh was born. Dr. Raman Singh added that Mr. Modi had launched several welfare projects for farmers-Prime Minister Irrigation project and Prime Minister Crops’ Insurance Project-. Ninety- six tehsils had been declared drought-affected and relief measures had been implemented there. Assembly Speaker Mr. Gowrishankar Agrawal, Food minister Mr. Punnulal Mohale, Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, Panchayat Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar, MP Mrs. Kamaladevi Patle, MLAs Mr. Sanam Jaangde, Mr. Shivratan Sharma, State Co-Operative Bank Chairman Mr. Ashok Bajaj, State Seeds and Agriculture Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Shyam Bais and several prominent citizens were also present.

Dr. Raman Singh released Rs 114 crore 73 lakh as Bonus to about 74 thousand 500 farmers at Bilaspur Science College Grounds. Chief Minister dedicated, performed ‘bhoomipujan’ of development works worth Rs 247 crore. Chief Minister dedicated Government Higher-Middle School building at village Podikala development block Takhatpur, Government Indira Higher-Middle School building at village Thkhatpur, Government Higher-Middle School building at village Uslapur, additional class for Braille press (visually handicapped children) at Tikra development block Bilha. He also dedicated Hirri-Bilha road, bridge over river Tihan connecting Doganihiya-Sapni and several other developmental projects.

He performed ‘bhoomipujan’ of an auditorium at Bilaspur, High School building at village Kureli development block Takhatpur, upgradation of road linking Khamharia-Rajpur Daija route, laying of road at village Pandaria, village Hardi-Devtara and many other projects.
