Chhattisgarh Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Kedar Kashyap today urged the Centre to sanction funds pending under various schemes to Chhattisgarh and demanded approval for scheduled tribes and caste hostel/residential hostel in various districts of the state.
He was participating in regional conference of social welfare ministers of Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jammu-Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh at Vigyan Bhavan here. Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot presided over the conference. Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, Krishnapal Gurjar, Chhattisgarh Special Secretary SC/ST/OBC/minority welfare Reena Babasaheb Kangale and Chhattisgarh Director Social Welfare Sanjay Alung were present on the occasion.
Shri Kashyap urged the Centre to give sanction for ‘Adarsh’ residential schools for scheduled castes in five districts of Chhattisgarh namely Mungali, Bemetara,Janjgir-Chhapa, Bilaspur and Baloda Bazaar. He informed that Pradhanmantri Adarsh Gram Yojana is operational in 175 grams of the state. He urged the Centre to sanction Rs 68.78 crore in 2017-18 for scheduled caste post matric scholarship scheme and Rs 26.66 crore in 2017-18 for Scheduled caste Pre matric Scholarship (Class 9, 10) scheme.
