SECR becomes highest freight loading zone of Indian Railway

With loading of around 45.78 million tonnes between April and June of this financial year, South East Central Railway (SECR) has created a record and managed to become highest freight loading zone of Indian Railways.
As per information received, SECR has fixed the target of 187 MT for financial year 2017-18 and with dedicated efforts of railway employees, SECR is successfully heading towards its goal, said officials, adding that SECR has carried out freight loading of 45.78 MT between April and June this year, which was highest in Indian Railway.
Official further informed that in corresponding period, Raipur division has carried out freight loading of 9.03 MT which was 1.63 MT more than the last year’s capacity.
“After formation of SECR, the zone has managed to add several feathers of success on its cap. Continuing its glorious tradition, SECR has created history by becoming highest freight loading zone in financial year 2016-17 and undertaking freight loading of over 150 MT from last 6 years,” said the railway official.
SECR is the only zone in Indian Railways which carried out freight loading over 150 MT last 6 consecutive years, added the officer.
In last financial year, SECR has carried out freight loading of 178.28 MT in which Raipur division had contributed 32.81 MT.
