Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is committed to developing healthcare facilities in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Sai’s endeavor is to provide excellent healthcare facilities to the people of the state at one place in Naya Raipur Atal Nagar. Continuous efforts are being made to give Naya Raipur Atal Nagar international recognition in the field of healthcare. One such project is the establishment of an international-level medical city in Naya Raipur.
In this regard, the Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority has started its efforts under the guidance of Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary. This state-of-the-art medical city will be developed over approximately 200 acres. For this, the authority has marked the land in Sector 37 of Naya Raipur. It is proposed to develop healthcare facilities with a capacity of approximately 5,000 beds in this project with the help of private investment. The state government is proposing to link this conceptual medical city project with the future Prime Minister’s Medical City scheme.
Recently, the Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority has held an initial coordination meeting with the central government undertaking Infrastech Services Limited for the establishment of the medical city.
Important issues have been discussed in the meeting to materialize the medical city project. This fully-equipped medical city will provide healthcare facilities not only to Chhattisgarh but also to the citizens of neighboring states. It is proposed to develop several leading multispecialty hospitals, medical colleges, hostels, diagnostics centers, dharamshalas, hotels and commercial integrated development in this medical city. For this, the state government is also making efforts to operate international flights from Swami Vivekananda Airport. The development of this medical city near the airport in Naya Raipur Atal Nagar will give Chhattisgarh a new identity in the field of medical tourism at the international level.
