Chhattisgarh to Become a Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Hub: Health Minister

A two-day training workshop for Assistant Drug Controllers, Drug Inspectors, and Food Safety Officers of the Food and Drug Administration Department was inaugurated today at the Civil Lines Circuit House in Raipur with Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal as the chief guest.
The training workshop was attended by 100 drug regulators from the state.
Addressing the two-day training workshop, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that you are the backbone of India’s Rs. 30 lakh crore medical trade.
Regarding the work of drug inspectors, he said that you ensure the quality of drugs and medical devices and the entire country is using medical products trusting your work. In these circumstances, you have to maintain that trust while discharging your duties.
Jaiswal spoke in detail about the utility of training and the importance of its sensitive implementation after training.
Jaiswal said that this training workshop will play a key role in establishing Chhattisgarh as a pharmaceutical and medical device hub.
Addressing the officials on this occasion, the Controller of the Food and Drug Department of the Chhattisgarh Government, Shri Chandan Kumar, said that the trade of drugs and medical devices is continuously growing. Speaking about India, he said that there is no country in the world where Indian medicines or medical devices are not supplied. Shri Chandan Kumar, while talking about the role of food controllers and food safety officers, said that it is because of your good work that people get facilities and better medical resources are available to them.
In the training workshop, the State Control Authority of the Food and Drug Administration, Shri Bansat Kumar Kaushik, provided an outline and detailed technical information about the training to be conducted in the workshop. The training workshop was inaugurated with a lecture by Dr. Amal Kumar, Drug Controller of Bihar State, in which he shared his experience with the officials present in the workshop along with detailed information. In the workshop, Dr. Shrikant Nama, Manager-Quality and Regulatory Expert from Haryana, gave necessary and important precautions about the Medical Device Rules 2017. The workshop discussed in detail the rules related to the establishment, promotion, and successful operation of blood centers (blood banks).
