Chhattisgarh procures 20.54 Lakh Metric Tonnes of Paddy

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the procurement of paddy from farmers in the state is being carried out smoothly. The paddy procurement process, which started on November 14 in Chhattisgarh, is continuing uninterrupted.

As of now, 20.54 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured in the state. A total of 4.36 lakh farmers have sold their paddy. These farmers have been paid Rs. 4285.74 crore through the bank linking system against the paddy procurement. This paddy procurement campaign will continue till January 31, 2025.

Food department officials informed here today that 27.68 lakh farmers have registered for this Kharif year. This includes 1.45 lakh new farmers. This year, it is estimated that 160 lakh metric tonnes of paddy will be procured through 2739 procurement centers.

Food department officials informed that today, on December 1, 2.08 lakh metric tonnes of paddy were procured from 45455 farmers. For this, 62966 tokens were issued. 38508 tokens have been issued for the coming day.
