Chhattisgarh Kunbi Samaj Mahasangathan met CM Sai, expressed gratitude for making the film “Chhava” tax-free

A 20-member delegation of the Chhattisgarh Kunbi Samaj Mahasangathan met Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and expressed gratitude for making the film Chhava, based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, tax-free in the state. The delegation stated that this decision is a significant step in making history more accessible and comprehensible to the masses.

The delegation honored Chief Minister Shri Sai by presenting him with a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a Marathi cap, a shawl, and a coconut, appreciating his leadership in driving good governance and progress in the state. They also requested the declaration of a public holiday on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti.

Women representatives of the delegation, Mrs. Sarika Gedekar and Mrs. Manisha Barse, informed the Chief Minister that the women of the Kunbi community have established a cottage industry in the community hall to promote self-employment. Under this initiative, turmeric, chili, spices, and other products are being processed, packaged, and made available in the market. Chief Minister Shri Sai praised this initiative, calling it an inspiring step towards women’s empowerment.

The delegation also provided the Chief Minister with details regarding the construction of the Kunbi Samaj Bhavan and discussed future plans for the community. The delegation included Mr. Ranjit Bhau Muneshwar, Mr. Umesh Ghodmod, Mrs. Sarika Gedekar, Mrs. Manisha Barse, Mr. Dilip Gedekar, Mr. Hemraj, Mr. Prem Bohre, Mr. Vasudev Funde, Mrs. Ragini Gedekar, Mrs. Sangita Bhandarkar, Mrs. Rinku, and other office bearers.
