Patients and their families coming to AIIMS for treatment used to stay at my residence. Then, seeing the arrangement of my house, the revered late Dilip Singh Judeo had said that you have made your house a mini AIIMS. When the approval for AIIMS Raipur was received during the tenure of the revered Atalji, it really opened up the way for better healthcare facilities for millions of people in Chhattisgarh and surrounding areas.

There were some villages in Bastar where people could not avail the benefits of healthcare facilities for years due to Maoist violence. Now health camps are being held there. People are getting Ayushman cards. Chhattisgarh’s medical infrastructure has improved, which is reflected in medical tourism. Even patients from neighboring states come to super specialty hospitals in Chhattisgarh. We are continuously working to improve the health infrastructure in Chhattisgarh. We are building a 700-bed hospital building at Ambedkar Hospital. After this, its capacity will be 2000 patients. The number of medical colleges in Chhattisgarh has increased rapidly. Recently, we have started the process of constructing buildings for four medical colleges.
