Chhattisgarh Government’s New Budget Paves the Way for a Developed State

Raipur, March 3

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao responded to the 2025-26 state budget, presented in the Assembly today, stating that it is a progressive budget that will drive Chhattisgarh towards development. He emphasized that the budget reflects the Silver Jubilee Year of Chhattisgarh’s formation and aligns with the birth centenary year of Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who played a key role in the state’s creation.

He praised Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary for crafting an inclusive budget focused on four pillars of development: Good Governance, Accelerated Infrastructure, Technology, and Industrial Growth (GATI). The total budget allocation stands at ₹1,65,100 crore, aiming to fulfill the vision of a Developed Chhattisgarh.

Key Budget Announcements
₹10,000 crore allocated for Krishak Unnati Yojana to boost farmers’ progress.
₹8,500 crore for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) to provide housing.
₹100 crore under Mukhyamantri Grih Pravesh Samman Yojana for home entry benefits.
₹5,500 crore for Mahatari Vandan Yojana, focusing on women’s welfare.
₹9,500 crore for the Public Works Department (PWD) to improve infrastructure.
₹4,500 crore for Jal Jeevan Mission, ensuring piped water supply to every household.
₹500 crore allocated for Mukhyamantri Nagarothhan Yojana, a new DPR-based urban development initiative.
₹10 crore for the Mukhyamantri Good Governance Fellowship Program to encourage administrative excellence.
Focus on Employment, Education, and Law & Order
6 new physiotherapy colleges and 12 new nursing colleges to be established across districts.
₹50 crore allocated for ITI upgradation to enhance skill development.
Recruitment of 3,200 Bastar Fighters to strengthen security and create employment, working towards a Naxal-free Chhattisgarh.
Revival of the Tirth Yatra Yojana for senior citizens, previously discontinued by the last government, with ₹15 crore allocated.
Simplifying Legal Processes
To ease land disputes, the government has reduced the fee for relinquishment and partition deeds to just ₹500, preventing excessive expenditures and conflicts in property matters.

Deputy CM Arun Sao stated that the budget caters to the needs and aspirations of all sections of society, ensuring comprehensive growth and development.
