Chhattisgarh is no longer just a state known for minerals and agriculture; it is now moving towards becoming a hub for technological innovation and strategic industries. This transformation is being led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, who has not only modernized the state’s industrial policies to be employment-oriented but has also taken historic steps to attract investment in strategic sectors such as defence, aerospace, and space technology.

In a recent cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sai, a separate industrial incentive package for these advanced technology sectors was announced. This package is expected to not only attract significant investments but also open up new avenues for employment and service opportunities for the youth of the state.

This special package, developed under the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, marks a decisive step toward encouraging the establishment and expansion of cutting-edge industries. Enterprises in the defence, aerospace, and space sectors will be eligible for 100% SGST reimbursement based on fixed capital investment or, alternatively, capital grants. Units investing between ₹50 crore and over ₹500 crore will be eligible for subsidies up to 35%, with a maximum limit of ₹300 crore. In addition, investors will benefit from interest subsidies, electricity duty exemptions, concessions on stamp duty and registration charges, relaxation in land use conversion charges, incentives based on employment generation, EPF reimbursement, and training grants.

One of the most impactful features of this policy is the focus on permanent job creation for local youth. Industries that offer first-time employment to residents of Chhattisgarh will receive a wage subsidy of up to 20% of the salary paid. This reflects the government’s vision of development as not merely statistical growth but a means to truly uplift the standard of living of the common people.

The policy also includes provisions such as a 20% subsidy on R&D expenditure in the defence and aerospace sectors, capital investment grants for setting up Centres of Excellence, and special assistance for drone training centres. These measures will help Chhattisgarh become self-reliant and a frontrunner in the field of technology. Companies investing over ₹1,000 crore or generating employment for over 1,000 people will be eligible for additional industrial incentives, further attracting large national and global corporations to invest in the state.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai envisions the creation of an integrated ecosystem in Chhattisgarh encompassing industrial investment, employment, technical education, research, and innovation. His goal is for the youth of Chhattisgarh to not just seek jobs but to become job creators themselves. This industrial policy aligns with national initiatives like Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and represents a crucial step toward giving the state a new identity on the industrial map.

Chhattisgarh is now moving beyond traditional industries and emerging as a promising destination for high-tech investments in defence and aerospace. This will not only accelerate the state’s economic prosperity but also pave the way for the youth of Chhattisgarh to reach new heights in their aspirations and careers.
