
Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian said Real estate and alcohol should also be under GST Bill and all states should come together to make it happen.
Speaking at an orientation programme at the Delhi Assembly yesterday, Mr Subramanian rued that the system was far from being flawless since subjects such as real estate and alcohol remained outside its realm.
He also said that in India, the problem of black money was linked to land and real estate, gold, alcohol, politics and cash.
Mr Subramanian said Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill could be a best and model for taxation policy in the 21st Century. He said Delhi’s revenue will increase as it is servicing and producing state.
