
Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian said today the economy is facing multiple headwinds and there is a need to attack them on various fronts.
He said in New Delhi that the economy has lots of challenges ahead as growth is slowing down and investment not picking up.
Mr. Subramanian said, there is a need to attack these problems on many fronts including exchange rate and public investments while maintaining macroeconomic stability.
On the stimulus package, the CEA said, it is being worked out and an announcement will be made at an appropriate time.
It is expected that the government will provide a stimulus to various sectors including power and railways to revive growth.
His statements came soon after the government decided to give him a one year extension.
His current stint was ending on 16th of next month and now Mr. Subramanian will continue for one more year.
