Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said Electronic way or E-way bill for movement of goods between states will be implemented from the 1st of next month. However, for intra-state movement, the E-way bill would be rolled out in a phased manner beginning the15th of April and will cover all the states by the 1st of June this year.
The Minister said the existing system of filing the GST returns has been extended for another three months till the new return system is finalized. Briefing reporters after the 26th meeting of GST Council in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Jaitley said, the GST implementation Committee will redress the grievances caused to taxpayers arising out of IT glitches. He said, tax exemptions to exporters have also been extended by six months to September.
