Govt fixes sovereign Gold bond rate at Rs 2,890 per gram

The government has fixed the issue price of Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) at Rs. 2,890 per gram for the next subscription period under Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2017-18. The next subscription period is 11th to 13th of this month.

Finance Ministry in a statement said, the government had floated Series-3 of Sovereign Gold Bonds 2017-18, for the period from 9th of October to 27th of December this year.

The Ministry said, the government in consultation with the RBI has decided to allow discount of Rs. 50 per gram from the issue price to those investors who apply online and the payment is made through digital mode.
