Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has categorically stated that the centre has no plan to impose any tax on agricultural income. In a statement, Mr Jaitley said, he has read the paragraph in Niti Aayog’s Report entitled ‘Income tax on Agriculture Income’.
Clearing any confusion on the subject, the Minister said, as per the Constitutional Allocation of Powers, the Central Government has no jurisdiction to impose tax on agricultural income.
