Bastar’s original identity has been its beautiful natural surroundings, rich tribal culture, and peaceful environment. We have done a great job of restoring Bastar’s original identity in one year. Today, Bastar is being praised not only in India but all over the world. The United Nations World Tourism Organization has included the village of Dhuḍmarās among the top 20 tourist villages in the world.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of development works held at the PG College Hostel Ground in Jagdalpur. On this occasion, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 288 development works worth Rs 356 crore 44 lakhs and distributed checks and materials worth more than Rs 1 crore 55 lakhs to beneficiaries under various schemes.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is working with full commitment for the progress and development of the Bastar region. Keeping in mind the needs of the Bastar region, all basic facilities and resources are being made available. We want to develop Bastar with confidence, and we are succeeding in it. We are fulfilling every promise we made to the people of Chhattisgarh as a guarantee of Modi. Within a year of the formation of the government, we have fulfilled most of Modi’s guarantees.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that at the request of our government to the central government to provide housing to the people of the sensitive areas of Bastar, 15,000 Prime Minister’s houses have been separately approved for these areas.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Modi had guaranteed the approval of 18 lakh PM houses, which we fulfilled on the very second day of our government’s oath by approving houses for homeless beneficiaries. The approved PM houses are now being built and the beneficiary families are also getting housewarming.
He said that on January 7, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan is coming to Chhattisgarh, and on this day also, the homeless beneficiaries in the state will be benefited.
He said that we have started the Niyat Nella Nar Yojana for the development of Naxal-affected and backward areas, in which we are rapidly ensuring the development of basic facilities under 53 welfare schemes and 28 community facilities of 17 departments of the government in villages located within a 5-kilometer radius of security camps.
The Chief Minister said that we have also implemented the National Education Policy, today 18 local languages are being taught in the schools of the state. Children in Bastar are studying in Halbi and Gondi languages. In the interest of our youth who want to become doctors, we have decided to conduct MBBS studies in the Hindi medium. Under the PM Shri School Scheme, we are making arrangements for modern education in 341 schools. He said that the development of cities and villages is going on continuously. Within a year, Rs 700 crore has been released for the development of urban areas across the state.
Announcement of Rs 50 crore for drinking water supply in Nagar Panchayat Bastar
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, addressing the program, announced to give Rs 50 crore for providing pure drinking water to every household under the Amrit Mission Scheme in Nagar Panchayat Bastar. Forest and Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that there is a double-engine government of Prime Minister Shri Modi at the center and Chief Minister Shri Sai in the state, which has accelerated the pace of development. The program was also addressed by Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma, Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Singh Dev, and Bastar MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap. On this occasion, Lok Sabha member Kanker Shri Bhojraj Nag, MLAs Shri Vinayak Goyal and Shri Chaitram Attami, and other public representatives and dignitaries along with a large number of villagers were present.
