Dr. Kumar Vishwas will narrate the “Bastar’s Ram” story at the ‘Bastar Pandum’ celebration, an event that will highlight the art, culture, and traditions of the Bastar region. This upcoming event, scheduled for April 3, will mark a new step towards peace and cultural renaissance in the Bastar region.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described “Bastar Pandum 2025” as a cultural renaissance deeply connected to Bastar’s soul, stating that it is not just an event but a celebration of Bastar’s identity, faith, and aspirations. He emphasized that events like ‘Bastar’s Ram’ link Bastar’s land with spiritual energy and prove that the strongest path to development is through culture and tradition. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this festival will give Bastar a new identity on the global cultural map and that our tribal traditions will become a source of pride and inspiration for future generations.
It is noteworthy that the Dandakaranya region holds special significance from the time of the Ramayana, as Lord Ram spent some time during his exile in the forests of Dandakaranya. Dr. Kumar Vishwas will narrate the story of Lord Ram, focusing on his importance in the context of the Bastar region, through his Ram Katha, “Bastar’s Ram”.
As Dr. Kumar Vishwas’s voice echoes with the Ram Katha in the valleys of Bastar, it will not just be words but a feeling of peace, unity, and renaissance. Through this event, the people of Bastar will have the opportunity to recall Lord Ram’s stay in the region and experience their rich mythological heritage.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma commented on the “Bastar’s Ram” event, stating that events like “Bastar Pandum” and “Bastar’s Ram” serve as a cultural bridge that connects the Bastar region with India and the world. These events are a testament to our Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s commitment to the integrated development of the Bastar region. Today, Bastar stands proudly as a witness that the end of violence is possible and that the path to peace passes through culture.
It is important to note that the state government is organizing “Bastar Pandum 2025” to preserve, promote, and encourage the local art, culture, and way of life of the tribal-majority Bastar region. The inauguration session will include the “Bastar’s Ram” program, which is scheduled for 6 p.m.
