Approval for Six Construction Projects, Including Four New Medical Colleges Worth Over ₹1,390 Crore, in Chhattisgarh

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has taken a historic decision, giving a new direction to the health sector. Tender bids have been approved for a total of six important construction projects, including four new government medical colleges in the state. The approval was granted during the 51st Board of Directors meeting of the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSC), held at its headquarters in Naya Raipur. The total cost of these projects exceeds ₹1,390 crore. Following this decision, the expansion of health education and treatment services in the state will gain new momentum.
In the meeting, tender bids were approved for the building construction projects of four new medical colleges: ₹323.03 crore for Manendragarh Medical College, ₹318.27 crore for Kabirdham Medical College, ₹318.27 crore for Janjgir-Champa Medical College, and ₹326.53 crore for Geedam Medical College.
Additionally, approval was given for a tender bid of ₹28.48 crore for the construction of a 220-bed hospital building in Manendragarh, and ₹79.52 crore for the construction of the Government Ayurveda College and Hospital building in Bilaspur.
With the approval of the tender bids for these six projects, their construction work will commence soon. Upon completion, state residents will have access to state-of-the-art medical facilities, which will significantly reduce their dependence on larger cities for treatment.
Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal stated that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is consistently working towards strengthening health services. He said that the establishment of new medical colleges will not only expand the scope of medical education but also strengthen the availability of doctors and paramedical staff. Health Minister Shri Jaiswal added that the health sector is receiving a new direction under the sensitive vision and farsighted leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. Providing quality healthcare to every citizen of the state is our priority.
The 51st Board of Directors meeting of CGMSC was attended by Chairman Shri Deepak Mhaske, Health Department Secretary Shri Amit Kataria, CGMSC Managing Director Shri Ritesh Agrawal, and other senior officials from the Finance Department, GST Department, and the Corporation.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the timeline, quality standards, and transparency in the implementation of the projects. It was decided that the construction work would be completed in a time-bound manner and with high-quality standards.
The launch of these medical colleges and hospitals will open up new opportunities for medical education for the youth of the state and will also boost local employment generation. Furthermore, health services will become accessible in rural and remote areas.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that our goal is to develop a health infrastructure in Chhattisgarh where every citizen receives quality and accessible medical care without any discrimination. He affirmed that the state government gives the highest priority to the public’s health.
