Antyodaya’s Resolve: CM Sai to Gift ₹500 Crore to Nearly 5 Lakh Landless Families

Raipur, March 23

The landless agricultural laborers, the true architects of Chhattisgarh’s rural economy, are now entering a new era of financial security. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government’s ‘Deendayal Upadhyaya Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme’ is not merely a financial assistance program; it is a sacred mission (Mahayagya) to provide a life of dignity to the last person in the social hierarchy.
Direct Financial Empowerment
Under this scheme, an amount of ₹10,000 per beneficiary will be transferred directly into the accounts of 4,95,965 landless beneficiaries this year. To facilitate this, the state government has made a provision of ₹495,96,50,000.
Included in this list are 22,028 Baiga and Guniya families, who serve as the guardians of the state’s cultural and traditional heritage. The state government had provided record-breaking assistance through this scheme last year as well. In 2025, a total of ₹562,11,20,000 was distributed to 5,62,112 beneficiaries at the rate of ₹10,000 each. This consistent flow of data reflects the state government’s unwavering commitment to the economic strengthening of landless families.
Justice and Good Governance
When Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai transfers the funds from the soil of Balodabazar on March 25, 2026, it will resonate as the voice of ‘Justice and Good Governance’ in Chhattisgarh. The scheme has proven that when a government’s intent is sincere and its policies are clear, the rays of development reach every hut.
The most significant feature of this scheme is its inclusive nature. This year’s beneficiary list includes 22,028 Baiga and Guniya families—those who have preserved our ancient medicinal traditions and cultural legacy. By integrating them into the mainstream, the government has sent a clear message: the person standing at the very end of the line (Antyodaya) is the top priority for the administration.
A Boon for Rural Households
The ‘Deendayal Upadhyaya Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme’ is a blessing for rural families whose primary source of income is manual labor. The government’s primary goal is to provide these families with fixed annual financial assistance so they can meet basic needs—such as education, health, and daily requirements—without falling into debt.
The annual assistance, which was previously ₹7,000, has been increased to ₹10,000 per year, reaching the beneficiaries’ accounts directly.
