Another Guarantee Fulfilled by PM Modi, CM Sai Announces ₹10,000 Annual Aid for Landless Workers

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced the fulfillment of another guarantee by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rural landless workers in the state will now receive an annual financial assistance of ₹10,000. The announcement was made during a program organized at the district headquarters in Sakti to mark the completion of one year of the state government. The scheme is expected to benefit 562,000 workers across the state.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced the development of Damaudarha in Sakti district as a tourist destination. He stated that nearly ₹1.7 billion worth of development projects will accelerate progress in Sakti district. During the event, the Chief Minister blessed 15 couples who were married under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai highlighted that this event coincided with the Maha Kumbh being held in Prayagraj, a rare occasion occurring after 144 years.
He emphasized that this is a great opportunity to partake in the sacred tradition of Sanatan Dharma. Special arrangements have been made on a 4.5-acre area at the fairground for pilgrims from Chhattisgarh. Accommodation and meals are being provided for devotees from the state, and Chhattisgarhi culture is being uniquely showcased at the Chhattisgarh Pavilion in Prayagraj, which has been well-received by visitors.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s commitment to fulfilling the guarantees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the first cabinet meeting, approval was granted for 1.8 million houses. In the first phase, 847,000 houses were approved, with many beneficiaries already moving into their homes. Recently, Union Minister of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan approved an additional 350,000 houses during his visit to Nagpura in Durg. Additionally, the survey for the Awas Plus scheme has begun.
Eligibility criteria for the PM Awas Yojana have been expanded. Applicants owning two-wheelers, up to 2.5 acres of irrigated land, 5 acres of unirrigated land, or earning a monthly income of up to ₹15,000 are now eligible to apply for housing. To simplify the approval process, an online application app has been launched, enabling people to apply from the comfort of their homes.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao stated that the government is rapidly fulfilling the development aspirations of the people of Chhattisgarh.
He noted that public funds are being utilized for public welfare. Over the past year, ₹770 million was allocated to six urban bodies in Sakti district. Farmers are receiving ₹3,100 for paddy procurement, Mahatari Vandan Scheme payments are being disbursed monthly, and housing construction is progressing swiftly, boosting rural development.
The program was also addressed by Member of Parliament Mrs. Kamlesh Jangde. The event was attended by MLA Mr. Ramkumar Yadav, various public representatives, and a large number of citizens.
