Adani Group to Invest in Chhattisgarh, Boosting Industrial and Social Development

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, met with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence today.
During the meeting, Shri Adani highlighted that the visionary and transparent policies of the Chhattisgarh government have earned the trust of industrialists, resulting in Adani Group’s plan to invest Rs 60,000 crore to expand power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh.
This project will increase Chhattisgarh’s power generation capacity by an additional 6,120 MW. This significant expansion in the energy sector will not only make the state self-reliant but also help supply power to other states.
The discussion also centered on boosting investment in the cement industry. The Adani Group has agreed to invest Rs 5,000 crore to expand cement plants in the state. This will strengthen the cement industry in Chhattisgarh and create new job opportunities.
New Projects Discussed
The meeting between the Chief Minister and Shri Adani also explored the possibilities of establishing defense equipment manufacturing, data centers, and global capability centers in Chhattisgarh. The government’s initiative aims to make the state a major center for emerging industries. Ideas were also shared to promote innovative activities considering the current needs.
Adani Group to Spend Rs 10,000 Crore for Chhattisgarh’s Development
Shri Adani informed that as per Chief Minister Shri Sai’s suggestion, the Adani Group will spend approximately Rs 10,000 crore from CSR and other sources in the next four years to promote education, health, skill development, and tourism in the state. This initiative will take the state’s social and economic development to new heights.
Special Emphasis on Technical Education
The Adani Group will work to develop employment-based skills among the youth. This will ensure the availability of adequate technical skill-based human resources. The curriculum in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) will be designed according to future needs to provide ample opportunities to local youth.
Additionally, the Adani Group will establish a Skill Excellence School and a premium school in Naya Raipur to give a new direction to education and skill development in Chhattisgarh. This initiative will prove to be a significant effort to make youth and children self-reliant by providing them with quality education and cutting-edge skills.
Focus on Improving Healthcare Facilities
Along with this, the Adani Group will also work to expand healthcare facilities so that citizens of Chhattisgarh can get high-quality healthcare. A 1000-bed dormitory facility for patients’ relatives will also be started near AIIMS Raipur and the Mekahara Hospital.
Boost to Tourism and Rural Development Projects
The Adani Group will work on new projects to make historical and cultural sites in Chhattisgarh attractive for tourists. This will help the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh gain global recognition. Similarly, work will also be done to expand facilities under rural development.
