“A Poet Who Made Everyone Laugh Has Left Us in Tears” – CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the condolence meeting organized at Shri Salasar Balaji Dham auditorium in Jora, Raipur, in memory of renowned poet Padma Shri Dr. Surendra Dubey. The Chief Minister paid floral tribute to the late Dr. Dubey’s portrait and prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and provide strength and courage to the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Dr. Surendra Dubey, a nationally acclaimed poet in the field of humor and satire, was a true son of Chhattisgarh Mahtari. “The great poet who made everyone laugh has left us in tears today,” he said. Through his exceptional poetic talent, Dr. Dubey not only brought pride to Chhattisgarh across the nation but also on international platforms. His sudden demise is an irreparable loss to the state and the literary world, one that cannot be compensated.

The Chief Minister added that in his long public life, Dr. Dubey participated in numerous poetry gatherings, and there was hardly any major event where his presence was not felt. At every stage, he received special honor from the country’s most respected poets.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao also paid tribute during the ceremony, saying that Dr. Dubey was not just a poet but a lively and dynamic personality. Through his writings, he brought recognition to the Chhattisgarhi language and culture. He traveled across every corner of the state, not only spreading joy but also awakening social awareness. Dr. Surendra Dubey’s family members and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
