“A Government That Works Well Does Not Hesitate to Face the Public” –CM Sai

Raipur, 19 May

As part of Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai’s helicopter landed today in the tribal village of Amagohan under Kota Block in Bilaspur district. The tribal villagers were filled with excitement and joy at seeing the Chief Minister among them. Braving the scorching sun, they stood for hours just to catch a glimpse of him and hear him speak.

In the grievance redressal camp, CM Sai interacted with the villagers and reviewed the status of applications submitted in the grievance boxes. Explaining the importance of Sushasan Tihar, he said, “Today, the government of Chhattisgarh has come to your village. In the last one and a half years, we have worked for the welfare of the people. Only a government that has performed well dares to face the people. Sushasan Tihar is like our report card — a way for the public to assess our performance and for us to verify the ground-level implementation of schemes.”

As part of the third phase of Sushasan Tihar, CM Sai addressed the grievance redressal camp in the remote tribal village of Amagohan. Addressing the gathering, he said, “With your blessings, our government was formed in the state and has now completed one and a half years. In this time, we’ve won Lok Sabha, urban body, and municipal elections. We’ve fulfilled every promise under Modi’s guarantees.”

He added, “Right after taking the oath, our government approved 18 lakh houses under the PM Awas Yojana. Union Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh also sanctioned 3 lakh houses each for Durg and Ambikapur residents. In addition to PM Janman Awas and houses for surrendered families in Naxal areas, people listed under Awas Plus will also receive homes.”

Highlighting key achievements, the CM said:

Farmers now receive ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy, with purchases up to 21 quintals per acre.

Outstanding paddy bonuses from the past two years have been paid.

Over 70 lakh women are receiving ₹1,000 per month under Mahtari Vandana Yojana to promote financial independence and empowerment.

Tendu leaf collectors now get ₹5,500 per standard sack (up from ₹4,000).

Under Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, beneficiaries are being taken on pilgrimages to Ayodhya.

The Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana now allows families to visit other pilgrimage sites of their choice.

The Chief Minister also announced that:

From April 24, Atal Digital Seva Kendras have been launched in gram panchayats, providing bank-like services, government documents (like caste and residence certificates), and scheme benefits.

Already launched in 1,460 panchayats, these centers will eliminate the need for rural residents to travel to banks.

Alongside land registration, the name transfer process has also been initiated and can now be completed in under an hour, curbing corruption.

Mr. Sai reaffirmed that this is a government of good governance — fulfilling Modi’s guarantees and actively working to eliminate corruption through action and innovation.

New Announcements: College, Power Substation, Community Hall
Responding to public demand, the Chief Minister announced:

A new college in Belgahna to promote higher education.

A 33kV electric substation in Amagohan and surrounding villages to solve low voltage issues.

A community hall for hosting events and programs in Amagohan.

Union Minister and MP Mr. Tokhan Lal Sahu, who was present at the camp, praised the CM’s efforts. “Through Sushasan Tihar, camps are being organized across the state. CM is personally visiting even the smallest villages and resolving problems on the spot. Today, he visited a remote tribal village in Bilaspur district — for that, we are thankful.”

He added, “Within days of the government’s formation, Modi’s guarantees started being fulfilled. Now, the CM is traveling village to village to monitor the implementation. I also raised additional demands including a college and power station.”

Lives Changed by Government Schemes
Several beneficiaries shared how their lives have improved:

Chhote Lal, a beneficiary of the PM Awas Yojana, said he previously lived in a mud house prone to snakes and scorpions. His new concrete home has protected his family from the elements.
