The Chhattisgarh Water Resources Department has cleared an administrative approval of around Rs 16.17 crore for major repair and construction works under the Kokia Diversion Scheme in Baltoli village of Farsabahar block, Jashpur district. The project includes canal restoration, repair of old structures, construction of new structures, CC lining, and channel development.
Once completed, the project is expected to fully cover the scheme’s 810-hectare irrigation target, closing the gap created by the current shortfall of 579 hectares. Officials said the work will follow strict timelines, quality norms, and financial discipline, ensuring direct benefits for farmers in the region.
The project is expected to significantly improve irrigation reliability and support agricultural development in the Farsabahar area.
