Education is the only way for the advancement and progress of society. Our government is continuously working to strengthen education from school level to higher education. It is our intention to see the youth of the Scheduled Tribe category in Chhattisgarh become Collectors, SPs, Doctors, and Engineers. Chief Minister Shri Sai was addressing the social convention of the Satgarh Kanwar Society and the death anniversary ceremony of Veer Shaheed Sitaram Kanwar, held today in Katghora, Korba district.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Veer Shaheed Sitaram Kanwar is the pride of the society. On this occasion, he unveiled the statue of the 1857 freedom fighter Shaheed Sitaram Kanwar at Rampur Chowk. During the program, representatives of the society welcomed and felicitated Chief Minister Shri Sai by presenting him with a bow and arrow. The Chief Minister also honored the talented students who achieved excellent marks in the board examinations.
Chief Minister Shri Sai announced at the program that an amount of ₹1 crore will be provided for the construction of the community building of the Satgarh Kanwar Society, and a boundary wall will also be constructed for this building. He announced ₹10 lakh for the installation of the new statue of Shaheed Sitaram Kanwar at Rampur Chowk, ₹25 lakh for the installation of the statue of Lord Sahastrabahu and the construction of an entrance gate at Kasaniya Mod, and the construction of a hi-tech bus stand in Katghora.
Chief Minister Shri Sai also performed the Bhumipujan (groundbreaking ceremony) and laid the foundation stone for the naming of the square as Lord Sahastrabahu Chowk at Kasaniya Mod, statue installation, and the construction of a Kalchuri Welcome Gate-cum-Park.
Chief Minister Shri Sai appealed to the people present at the Kanwar society convention to educate their children for the development and upliftment of the society, to keep the youth away from intoxication, and to take maximum advantage of the government’s public welfare schemes. He said that excellent institutions for higher education have been established in the state—Medical Colleges, AIIMS, IIITs, Universities, and Law Colleges are operational. He also extended his best wishes for the Silver Jubilee celebration as the state of Chhattisgarh completes 25 years of its formation.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the guarantees made to the people of Chhattisgarh by the successful Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, are being fulfilled rapidly. With the formation of the government, 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas (PM Homes) were sanctioned. Paddy is being procured from farmers at the rate of ₹3100 per quintal for 21 quintals per acre. Under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, financial assistance of ₹1000 per month is being deposited in the accounts of 70 lakh women. Tendu leaves are being procured from collectors at the rate of ₹5500 per standard bag. The Charan Paduka Yojana has been restarted.
The Chief Minister informed that under the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, thousands of devotees from the state are being taken on a government-funded pilgrimage to Ayodhya Dham every month. He said that more than 10,000 youth have been given government jobs within just 20 months of the government’s formation. Soon, 5,000 teachers and more than 700 assistant professors will be recruited. The Chief Minister stated that new doors of opportunity are being opened for the youth by making the new industrial policy employment-oriented.
The program was attended by MLA Shri Premchand Patel and Shri Tuleshwar Hira Singh Markam, District Panchayat President Dr. Pawan Singh Kanwar, Mayor Smt. Sanju Devi Rajput, Central President of Kanwar Society Shri Chhatrapal Singh Kanwar, along with many public representatives and a large number of social members of the Kanwar society.
