Minister Laxmi Rajwade Holds Departmental Review Meeting, Strict Instructions Issued for Effective Implementation of Schemes

Raipur, 14 September

Minister for Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, conducted a departmental review meeting in the joint district office conference hall of Balrampur district. In the meeting, she conducted an in-depth review of the schemes operated by the Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Department and directed officials to ensure effective ground-level implementation and continuous monitoring.

Emphasizing extensive awareness for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the Minister instructed that eligible beneficiaries must receive benefits in a timely and transparent manner. She also ordered that under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, needy families should be given priority. Stressing the need to curb child marriage, she stated that adolescent girls should be made aware of the harmful consequences of child marriage, so that the state can achieve the goal of becoming child marriage-free.

Regarding the functioning of Anganwadi centers, Minister Rajwade emphasized that:

Centers must operate regularly and on time,

Special attention should be paid to children’s attendance and the quality of nutritional meals,

Cleanliness, education systems, nutrition gardens, and the distribution of ready-to-eat food should be properly managed.

Placing special emphasis on malnutrition eradication, the Minister instructed that:

NRC centers (Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers) must be operated smoothly,

Malnourished children must be provided regular nutrition.

Mrs. Rajwade also instructed that:

Under the PM Janman initiative, the quality of under-construction Anganwadi buildings must be ensured, and construction should be completed promptly,

The recruitment process for vacant posts must be conducted in a transparent manner,

Regular monitoring of Anganwadi centers must be ensured.

Highlighting women’s empowerment, the Minister reviewed the Saksham Yojana and instructed that women be connected to self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. She also emphasized the need to increase public awareness at the Gram Panchayat level to prevent domestic violence.

The meeting included a review of the progress of various departmental programs such as:

Mahtari Vandan Yojana,

Childline Services,

Juvenile Justice Board,

Child Welfare Committee, and

Sakhi One-Stop Centers.

During the Social Welfare Department review, the Minister directed that:

Pension scheme beneficiaries should receive benefits on time,

Vacant positions in the department must be filled promptly.
