The Transport Department of Chhattisgarh has appealed to all citizens to make payments for any RTO e-challans related to their vehicles only through the department’s official website: https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in
.
The department stated that recent cases of fraud have come to light where individuals received fake messages or emails prompting them to pay challan amounts. To avoid falling victim to such scams, citizens are advised not to make any payments through unauthorized websites or links.
To check the details of a genuine challan, vehicle owners should visit the department’s website and select the “Pay Online” option. By entering the vehicle number and the last four digits of the chassis or engine number, complete challan information can be accessed. Citizens can then proceed to make direct online payments.
The Transport Department clarified that all e-challans issued by the police and the transport department are uploaded only on the official website. People are advised not to click on any suspicious links received via calls, messages, or apps, and not to make any online payments through them.
In case of any such incident, citizens are urged to immediately lodge a complaint at the nearest police station or with the Transport Department.
