Wave of Devotion Surges at the Gurudarshan Fair, Devotees Arriving from Across the Country

The Gurudarshan Fair held at Giroudpuri, the birthplace and workplace of Baba Guru Ghasidas, is famous across the country for its grandeur and faith. Thousands of devotees from all over India, including Chhattisgarh, are arriving to receive blessings at this fair, which runs from March 4 to 6.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, extensive arrangements for the convenience and security of the devotees have been made this year.

Chief Minister Shri Sai has announced a grant of 50 lakh rupees to organize the fair in a grand manner this time, which was previously 25 lakh rupees. Along with this, the construction of a permanent shed from the main entrance to the main temple has also been announced.

Chief Minister Shri Sai himself visited the Guru Gaddi and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state. He also instructed the district administration to provide better facilities for the devotees, along with doubling the fair budget to enhance the grandeur of the fair and provide more convenience to the devotees.

After the announcement of Chief Minister Shri Sai, the district administration took swift action and instructed the officials of the Public Works Department to conduct site inspection and measurement for the construction of a permanent shed from the main entrance to the main temple.

On the guidelines of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, better arrangements have been made for the convenience and security of the devotees in this year’s fair. The Gurudarshan Fair is a center of faith and devotion not only for the devotees of Chhattisgarh but also for the devotees across the country. This year, it has been made more grand and well-organized on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.

With the increase in these facilities by the administration, devotees will get a more convenient, safe, and spiritual experience. This historic expansion of the Gurudarshan Fair will prove to take the service and faith of the devotees to new heights.

The health services provided to the devotees at the Gurudarshan Fair have been strengthened, under which the number of medical aid centers has been increased from 2 to 8 and the number of ambulances has been increased from 4 to 8.

Expanding the free food service, food is now being provided by 212 groups at 24 places, which was previously operated by 175 groups at 20 places. The drinking water system has also been strengthened, in which the number of permanent tap connections has been increased from 110 to 195 and the number of water tankers has been increased from 8 to 18.

The security system has been further strengthened in the fair, in which the number of police control rooms has been increased from 3 to 9, the number of security forces has been increased from 450 to 1150 and for the first time 36 CCTV cameras have been installed, which are being monitored regularly. 130 wireless sets have also been provided to the security personnel. Keeping fire safety in mind, now 3 fire fighting vehicles have been deployed instead of 1 so that immediate action can be taken in any emergency.

The electricity and lighting system has been made more effective in the fair, in which the number of transformers has been increased from 10 to 13 and the number of backup generators has been increased from 6 to 10 in case of power supply interruption. Keeping in mind the convenience of the devotees, the number of toilets has been increased from 4 to 16, the number of bathrooms has been increased from 6 to 10, and an additional 80 seater permanent toilet has also been arranged. The number of sanitation workers has been increased from 80 to 291 to make the sanitation system more effective so that cleanliness is maintained in the fair.

This year, for the first time, a website named Giroudpuri Mela Dot Com has been launched, through which devotees can get information about the fair site, necessary guidance, and other necessary services online. This will enable devotees to get complete information about travel-related information, parking arrangements, information about religious places, and other facilities online.
