A nationwide National Lok Adalat will be organized on Saturday, December 14, 2024, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi.
The event aims to resolve cases through mutual settlement (conciliation). In Chhattisgarh, the State Legal Services Authority (SALSA), Bilaspur, will conduct Lok Adalats in all district and subordinate courts. This will be the fourth Lok Adalat of the year 2024.
On the day of the Lok Adalat, pending cases in district and taluka (subordinate) courts related to compoundable offenses, motor accident claims, cheque bounce cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code, matrimonial disputes, as well as cases concerning water tax, property tax, revenue matters, traffic challans, rent control, excise, and bank and electricity-related pre-litigation matters will be resolved. Disputes over property division among heirs or landholders in revenue courts will also be addressed.

Additionally, recovery-related cases pending with revenue, banks, electricity departments, telecommunications departments, municipal corporations, municipal councils, and nagar panchayats will be presented in the district legal services authority for resolution.
