Raipur, January 14

On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, at the Tattapani Festival in Chhattisgarh, 300 girls were married collectively under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, following religious rituals and customs.

Chief Minister Sai, while blessing the newlyweds, stated that the organization of mass weddings under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana provides economic support to poor and needy families for their daughters’ marriages.

Kunti Nageshiya, a differently-abled girl from Kusmi block, expressed her joy at her marriage, saying that due to her economic condition and disability, marriage seemed impossible. With the blessings of the Chief Minister and the help of this scheme, today my dream has come true. Other newlyweds and their families also appreciated the event.

The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the newlyweds for a joyful married life filled with mutual respect and responsibility. He said that the Tattapani Festival has filled the lives of daughters from economically weaker families with new hopes and happiness.
