The Government of India has sanctioned 25 lakh new LPG connections across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Under this, 1.59 lakh eligible mothers and sisters in Chhattisgarh will receive the benefit of the Ujjwala Yojana under the “Sushasan Tihar” (Good Governance Festival) and “Niyad Nella Nar Yojana” (a scheme aimed at providing amenities). This decision will bring the light of clean energy and health into the lives of millions of mothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has extended his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Union Petroleum Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri ji. He said that the light that the Ujjwala Yojana has spread in the direction of women’s empowerment will become the foundation for the development of the entire society in the coming years.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the mothers and women of Chhattisgarh have always been the pivot of the family and society. Through the Ujjwala Yojana, they have received the respect they deserve. The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of this scheme reach every eligible sister under the leadership of the Prime Minister. This decision by the Government of India will bring a major improvement in the quality of life in states like Chhattisgarh. Women in rural and forest areas will now be able to live in a pollution-free environment.
It is noteworthy that currently, approximately 38 lakh women in Chhattisgarh are receiving the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
