Actor Sterling K Brown today created history by becoming the first African-American to win Golden Globe for best actor in a drama television series. Brown bagged the accolades for his role as Randall Pearson on NBC’s breakout hit “This Is Us”.
Elizabeth Moss continued her winning streak as she took home the Golden Globe trophy in Best Drama Actress TV category for her performance in “The Handmaids Tale”.Actor Nicole Kidman won the award for the Best Actress in a Limited Series at the event for her work on “Big Little Lies” and took the opportunity to speak out against abuse.
Kidman, who plays the role of an educated, affluent woman trapped in an abusive marriage on the show, also thanked her female co-stars — Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz — in her speech.
Kidman’s on-screen husband, Alexander Skarsgard, also won in the Best Supporting Actor in Limited Series category at the Globes and hailed the powerful team of “talented women” for making the show a success.
Dern, who played the role of a competitive corporate mother in the HBO show, won the Best Supporting Actress award.The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards are being held at Beverly Hills in California.
