Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that youth of Chhattisgarh has glorified name of the state with their hard work and talent in every field including education and sports. Dr Singh quoted Swami Vivekananda saying that “Arise! Awake! And Stop not till the goal is reached”, achieve your goal with persistence and hard work. Chief Minister was addressing the ‘arise programme’ organized at Indoor Stadium of capital city Raipur, on the occasion of National Youth Day.
Chief Minister said that Youth are the future of Nation. He said that Chhattisgarh state was formed in year 2000. Now, this 18-year-old Chhattisgarh is ready to take the new leap of development. With the support of youth, Chhattisgarh will soon become one of the most developed state of the nation. Dr Singh said that State Government is conducting various schemes for youngsters. Youngsters should avail these schemes. He said that Raipur has premium educational institutes of national-level. In the field of sports as well, youngsters are being provided better opportunities. Chief Minister welcomed famous cricket player Mr. Virendra Sehwag, saying that youth should take inspiration from Mr. Sehwag’s courage to march ahead in the direction of his choice.
Mentioning about Youth Spark Tournament, Chief Minister said that five lakh youths of 519 colleges participated in the competition and create a new history. He said that 27 selected youth got the opportunity to work as shadow collector for one day. This experience would have taught these youngsters that doing something constructive for the society requires hard work. Dr Singh awarded cheques of Rs 51 thousand to winner of the competition Mr. Abhishek Pandey, Rs 31 thousand to first runner up Ms. Reshma Sahu, and Rs 21 thousand to second runner up Rs 21 thousand. He congratulated Collector Raipur Mr. OP Choudhary, Competition Coordinator Mr. Daan Singh Dewangan and other people associated for successfully organizing the event. The programme was also addressed by MP Mr. Ramesh Bais and Cricket Player Mr. Virendra Sehwag. Collector Raipur Mr. OP Choudhary gave detailed information about the ‘Arise Programme’. On the occasion, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gaurishankar Agrawal, Agriculture and Water Resource Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Mr. Shrichand Sundrani, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation Mr. Devji Bhai Patel, Chairman Apex Bank Mr. Ashok Bajaj, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur Mr. Pramod Dubey, Director of Chhattisgarh State Hindi Grath Akademi Mr. Shashank Sharma and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Vanoshadhi Board Mr. Rampratap Singh were also present as special guest of the occasion. Padamshree Awardee Poet Dr Surendra Dubey recited poetry and child artist Lakshman gave commendable dance performance. On the occasion, many public representatives, senior officials and a large number of youth were present.
