Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that construction of 633 hostels and ashram schools worth nearly Rs one thousand 049 crore is in progress in state at war-footing. Funds for these construction works will be arranged from National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), District Mineral Trust Fund (DMF) and other funds. Dr Singh provided this information yesterday evening in the 22nd meeting of Scheduled Caste Development Authority held at the new committee room in Legislative Assembly premise.

In this meeting chaired by Dr Singh, sanctioned and under-construction works underway in various districts under the authority were reviewed in detail. Members thanked Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh for the historical decision of giving recognition to different phonetic values of 27 communities of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe and for inviting President Mr. Ramnath Kovind to Giraudpuri Dham in Rajyotsav 2017 to get foundation laying of community hall done at his hand.

It was informed in the meeting that on the basis of the proposals received from public representatives in various meetings of this authority constituted in year 2004, nearly 11 thousand 364 construction and development works worth Rs 444 crore 85 lakh have been sanctioned till date. Out of these, 10 thousand 650 works have been completed. In the meetings of the authority, 93 important and strategic decisions have been taken till date, out of which 86 decisions have been acted upon. Rs 27 crore 88 lakh have been sanctioned as financial assistance to 1920 youth for self-employment and training under Mini Mata Swavalamban Yojana from the authority’s fund. In the same sequence, Rs 25 crore 64 lakh has been sanctioned for providing electricity connection to irrigation pumps of three thousand 788 farmers, from the day the authority was established to the present day. Out of these, 3720 irrigation pumps have been electrified. In last three years including 2017-18, Rs 10 crore 62 lakh has been sanctioned to 600 youth for self-employment establishment under Mini Mata Swavalamban Yojana. This amount has been utilized for building shops for them.

In the meeting, Home, Jail, and PHE Minister Mr. Ramsevak Paikra, Food and Civil Supply Minister Mr. Punnulal Mohile, Tribal Caste and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Tourism, Culture and Cooperatives Minister Mr. Dayaldas Baghel, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Mrs. Ramsheela Sahu, Vice-Chairman of Authority and MLA Dr Sanam Jangade, MP of Raipur Mr. Ramesh Bais, Member of Lok Sabha from Bilaspur Mr. Lakhan Lal Sahu, MP Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Member of Rajya Sabha Dr Bhushan Lal Jangade, Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Pamgarh Mr. Ambesh Jangade, Ahiwara MLA Rajmahant Mr. Sanvlaram Dahre, Aarang MLA Mrs. Sarojini Banjare, Sarangarg MLA Mrs Kerabai Manhar, Chairman of Antyavsayi Sahkari Vitt avam Vikas Nigam Mr. Nirmal Singa and other public representatives were present. Besides, State Government’s Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture Mr. Sunil Kujur, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Mr. Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Mr. AN Upadhyay, Member Seceratry of the authority Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary Revenue Department Mr. NK Khakha, Special Secretary Tribal Caste and Scheduled Caste Development Department Mrs. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Special Secretary Public Relations Mr. Rajesh Sukumar Toppo, Commissioner of Raipur and Durg Divisions Mr. Brijesh Mishra, Commissioner of Bilaspur Division Mr. Trilok Mahavar and other senior officers concerned.
